Arts In Education

Education in theater is a primary focus of our company. All of our courses have been developed by working theater professionals in accordance with the NYS education standards, and overseen by NYS accredited educators. Our teacher-practitioners are trained and prepared within our company, several hold a Masters degree in theater education, and all are well versed in the subjects. Most importantly, the company is made up of people who are passionate about theater.

We offer a wide range of classes, from academic (e.g. history, theory of theater) to practical (e.g. improvisation, stage combat). Most courses offer a supplementary lesson plan for teachers with activities, suggested work, and guidelines to help prepare students for the work.

It is our goal to spread the uniqueness of this experience and to educate students about how a play is created from the time words are put on the page to the moment the actors come out for their bow. You may forget the first book you read or the first movie you saw but you never forget the first time you went to the theatre. By participating in this program you are not only teaching a lesson plan, you are giving your students a memory that they will keep for the rest of their lives.
