Allison has performed and taught acting & physical theatre around the globe. She graduated from Bennington College and had the privilege to train as a young actor in London, England at BADA with the likes of Fiona Shaw, David Leveaux, Diana Quick and Bardy Thomas. As a member of the Kadmus Theatre Studio under the direction of Bill Reichblum, she performed in the USA and Mexico as well as Slovakia and extensive residencies in Poland. During her tenure with Kadmus, she worked with Jerzy Grotowski, trained with Poland’s premiere experimental theatre company Gardzniece and France’s L’Académie Experimental du Théâtre de Paris. Allison was on the faculty of the first annual International Consortium for Actor Training in Poland where she taught both student and professional actors from the US, Canada, Poland, Hungary, Spain, and Romania. She holds an MFA from Canada’s only post-graduate acting program at York University in Toronto. She has also participated in Canada’s National Voice Intensive at the University of British Columbia where she was a student of Canada’s top voice and movement teachers led by David Smukler Judith Koltai. Allison trained on?camera with David Rotenberg at the Pro Actor’s Lab in Toronto, Ontario. During her time in Toronto, Allison taught first-year students at York U’s Acting Conservatory as well as leading workshops for students and faculty in physical and experimental theatre. In Toronto, Allison’s favorite roles include Anaïs Nin in The Idiot’s Karamazov, Lady Macbeth, and Estelle in Huis Clos. In New York, Allison has worked extensively onstage and off in both Off and Off-Off Broadway. She has worked on numerous productions with the Melting Pot Theatre, Manhattan Theatre Club and Myriad Arts Productions and has been committed to developing new plays and musicals from young and well-established playwrights throughout her career. She continues her travels by giving master classes at universities around the country in text work, movement and physical theatre. Allison has been a proud member of Actor’s Equity since 2000.
